Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister, extended best wishes to the Indian contingent which is featuring in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games officially set to get underway on July 26 (Friday).



"As the Paris Olympics commences, my best wishes to the Indian contingent. Every athlete is India’s pride. May they all shine and embody the true spirit of sportsmanship, inspiring us with their exceptional performances. #Paris2024," Modi write in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Sharath Kamal, PV Sindhu To Be The Flagbearer Of India's Contingent In Paris 2024


As far as India's flagbearer in the parade of nations is concerned, it is table tennis star Achanta Sharath Kamal and ace shuttler PV Sindhu who have got the honours. India will be the 84th country in the parade which starts off with Greece followed by names of countries in alphabetical order in the language of the host country. India will be 84th in third order.

The host of the Olympics go last which means it will be France who will be the 205th to go. They will be preceded by USA who are the host of the next Olympics in 2028 (Los Angeles). The 203rd country to go the Parade will be Australia who could host the 2032 Olympics.


Meanwhile, India's campaign has already gotten underway with archery on July 25 (Thursday) where the country remain in medal contention with the medal round yet to take place.
