Badminton at Paralympics 2024: India's mixed doubles badminton duo, Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan, missed out on securing a bronze medal in the Mixed Doubles Badminton event.
The Indian pair struggled early on, losing the first game 21-17. Despite putting up a fight, the Indian pair fell short in the second game of the bronze medal match, losing 12-21 to Indonesian pair of Subhan and Rina Marlina.

Earlier, Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan faced defeat against the American duo of Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon in the mixed doubles SH6 semifinal, missing the chance to advance to the gold medal match. The Indian pair, before participating in mixed events, were knocked out of their individual singles competition earlier.
With several events still to come as the 2024 Paralympics progresses, India's athletes remain focused and determined. This year, India has sent its largest-ever contingent to the Paralympics, with 84 athletes competing across 12 sports.

2024 Paralympic Games: India's medal tally reaches 7
India's Nishad Kumar clinched a silver medal in the men's high jump T47 event on Sunday, September 1, adding to India's medal tally at the 2024 Paralympics, which now stands at seven. The T47 category is designated for athletes with a below elbow or wrist amputation or impairment.
India's strong showing at the Games
Avani Lekhara won gold medal in Women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event, while Mona Agarwal earned a bronze in the same category. Preethi Pal brought home two bronze medals in Athletics, winning in the Women's 100m T35 and 200m T35 events. In shooting, Manish Narwal claimed silver in the Men's 10m Air Pistol SH1, and Rubina Francis won bronze in the Women's 10m Air Pistol SH1. Nishad Kumar clinched a silver medal in the men's high jump T47 event.
