India might not have been able to add to their medal tally or get assured of an addition either but the Indian men's hockey team produced a performance for the ages and came out on top of Great Britain to secure a place in the semifinals.

Lakshya Sen and Lovlina Borgohain were also in with a chance to assure a medal for India. However, they both ended up losing their respective bouts. While that ended Borgohain and the boxing contingent's hopes of a medal from the Paris Olympics 2024, Sen will have another chance at a medal as he will play the bronze medal match on Monday (August 5).
