Earthquake in Dubai: Earthquake tremors were felt in parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday. According to Gulf News, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck southern Iran in the evening. Aftershocks were felt in Dubai and Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates. Reportedly, its intensity was 2.3.


The tremors of the earthquake were felt just before the start of the final of the T20 World Cup in Dubai. The teams of Australia and New Zealand are playing the T20 World Cup final against one another. Both the teams have a chance to win the T20 World Cup for the first time ever. Australia vs New Zealand T20 World Cup final is being played at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.


Earthquake tremors were felt for two to three minutes


According to the Khaleej Times, after-shocks were felt for two to three minutes in different parts of Dubai. People came out of their homes, offices and buildings. The National Center of Meteorology said earthquake was felt in the northern and eastern parts of the country.


According to UAE geologists, the risk of earthquakes is slightly higher in the northern and eastern parts of the Emirate due to its proximity to the Iranian fault line. Several UAE residents also reported that they felt mild tremors from the two earthquakes.
