New Delhi: New Zealand are on the verge of losing, or at least they are in a difficult situation in the first Test against India at Green Park cricket stadium in Kanpur.

And their troubles were further escalated on Monday when their first choice off-spinner Mark Craig was ruled out of the Test series due to side strain.

New Zealand have named another off-spinner Jeetan Patel as Craig's replacement. Patel will join the Test squad soon. He played the last of his 19 Tests in 2013.

Craig took two wickets in the ongoing Test, dismissing Ajinkya Rahane in the first innings and then claimed Virat Kohli in the second essay to complete his 50 wickets in Test cricket.
