His comments had come after Neeraj came back from behind to finish second in the Lausanne Diamond League, a fortnight after securint the Olympic silver medal in Paris. Neeraj bettered his Paris throw in the Swiss city with a season-best distance of 89.49 metres, falling tantalisingly close to the 90-mark yet again in his career. While Neeraj has been struggling with a groin injury that was on his mind in Paris as well, it seems to have gotten better.

"Luckily, after Paris, it (groin injury) was not too much. So I did some treatment with my physio (Ishan Marwaha). He did really well and I feel good. I did some easy throwing sessions after Paris," Neeraj Chopra had told the Diamond League after the Lausanne meet.

With Neeraj almost guaranteed to be in the Brussels diamond League 2024 final scheduled on September 13, even if he skips the Zurich Diamond League 2024, it is being claimed in an Outlook report that he could well miss the Zurich Diamond league. Currently, Neeraj is placed at the third spot with 14 points after two second-place finishes - in Doha and Lausanne. The top six will compete in the final in the Belgian capital.
