Neeraj Chopra made India proud yet again when he bagged the country's first-ever gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. The medal is the latest addition to the list of medals that he has won for the country which includes an Olympic gold which he clinched at the Tokyo Summer games last year. Other than being one of the country's most decorated athletes, Neeraj is also among the most loved for the way he carries himself.

And now it is a response from his mother which has gone viral. While a journalist asked his mother Chopra's win over Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, trying to give an India vs Pakistan narrative to the historic win, her answer was all love and has gone viral on social media.

"Look, all have come to play in the field. One or the other will definitely win. So there is no question of being from Pakistan or Haryana," she said.

“It is a matter of happiness. Even if that Pakistani had won, there would've been great happiness," she added.

At the final on Sunday (August 27), Chopra's best attempt saw the javelin flew 88.17m to help India bag its maiden and only medal at the 2023 edition of the Championships and an unprecedented gold in the history of the competition.

Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem bagged the silver medal with a best attempt of 87.82 metres while Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch claimed the bronze medal with a best throw of 86.67m.
