The crisis surrounding the identity of India most famous football club and it's 131-year-old history was resolved with promoters of ATK club, who bought over stakes in Mohun Bagan and the club management agreeing on retaining the iconic boat logo of the club as well as the green and maroon jersey. The name of the club will, however, be changed to ATK Mohun Bagan.

However, there is bigger news in the offing with the present BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, whose tenure officially comes to an end on July 27, also listed as one of the board directors along with the main owner Sanjiv Goenka. Ganguly was attached with ATK club as well in the past.

The officials registered the club with the ministry of corporate affairs last month as ATK Mohun Bagan Private Limited with seven board members, which also includes Bagan club owners.

The new club, ATK Mohun Bagan FC revealed their new logo to the public and said that it will continue to respect and honour the sentiments of its fans. Mohun Bagan has over a hundred titles across India and is the reigning I League champions.
