New Delhi: An all-round remarkable bowling performance from bowlers and a fiery 25-ball fifty from Ishan Kishan helped defnding champions Mumbai Indians beat Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets and move up to fifth spot in IPL 2021 points table.


Earlier, the lethal trio of James Neesham (4 for 14), Nathan Coulter-Nile (3 for 12) and Jasprit Bumrah dominated the proceedings with the ball and picked 9 wickets together for just 40 runs in 12 overs to restrict Mumbai to 90 for 9. For Rajasthan, Evin Lewis top-scored with 24.


Apart from Ishan Kishan, skipper Rohit Sharma helped Mumbai Indians get off to a dream start. He scored 22 runs off 13 balls with the help of 2 sixes and a boundary. After the big win over Rajasthan, Mumbai's net run-rate has improved a lot.


Mumbai's net run rate is now -0.05 with 12 points and if Kolkata Knight Riders loses their last league match and Mumbai win their last match then they'll have a chance to qualify for IPL 14 playoffs on the basis of net run rate.


Mumbai's fast bowlers performed extremely well. Nathan Coulter-Nile took 4 wickets for 14 runs. Neesham took 3 wickets for 12 runs and Jasprit Bumrah bagged two wickets.
