Manchester: It took a loss by Manchester United against Leicester City for Manchester City to be crowned champions of England. This is their third title in four years. Pep Guardiola's Man City has been relentless since the takeover by the Spaniard. The fact that City won the title after a United loss is the biggest irony.

Guardiola's team is at 80 points which is 10 points clear of Manchester United, who are second in the table. With just three more matches remaining to be played by United, they cannot go beyond 80 points, thus, Manchester City has been crowned Champions with two weeks of football left to be played. After winning the season, Guardiola said, "This has been a season and a Premier League title like no other. This was the hardest one. We will always remember this season for the way that we won. I am so proud to be the manager here and of this group of players.”

The season did not begin so very well for Manchester City. For most of the time, Pep's players were injury-stricken while on other days, they were losing matches to lesser teams. Come December, Manchester United were the table leaders. “To come through this season – with all the restrictions and difficulties we’ve faced – and show the consistency we have is remarkable. It is relentless. Every single day, they are there, fighting for success, trying always to be better. They have been so, so resilient," said Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City will face Chelsea in the all-important final of the Champions League. If they manage to win the Champions League, it will be their first-ever Champions League title.
