New Delhi: Team India's star wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has a nickname 'Mahi' but is also popularly known as 'Captain Cool' because of the sense of calmness he carries with him that also passes on to the rest of the players to help them emerge victorious in tough times. However, even someone like Dhoni has had his temper frayed.

Young spinner Kuldeep Yadav has revealed an incident when MS Dhoni lost his cool on him during an ODI against Sri Lanka in 2017. Yadav - who is a left-arm chinaman - said he got a verbal lashing from MS Dhoni for not adhering to his instructions while bowling.

"Kusal (Perera) smashed a boundary over the covers. Dhoni Bhai shouted from behind the wickets and asked me to change the fielding. I did not listen to his suggestion and next ball, Kusal hit another boundary with a reverse sweep," Kuldeep told sports anchor Jatin Sapru during an instagram chat.

And what happened next was something that Kuldeep hadn't factored in.

"...angry Dhoni came up to me and said, ''main pagal hu? 300 one-day khela hoon, aur samjha raha hoon yahaan pe.' (Am I mad? I have played 300 ODIs and you are not listening to me)."

After the game, Kuldeep Yadav went to MS Dhoni in the team bus to apologise.

"I was so scared of him that day. After the match, I went up to him in the team bus and asked if he ever got angry. he replied: '20 saal se gussa nahi kiya hai (I have never been angry in the last 20 years.)'.

Dhoni, who has not played for the Indian cricket team since 2019 ODI World Cup, was all set to make his comeback in the IPL 2020 but the tournament has been ostponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
