New Delhi: The Kolkata Knight Riders are doing well in the Indian Premier League so far but there is a bad news for them. One of their main batsmen has fallen ill and has been ruled out of the tournament for a couple of weeks.

A pillar of strength in their batting line-up, Manish Pandey was diagnosed with chicken pox. According to the reports, Pandey is expected to miss out on the games in the next couple of weeks. The two-time IPL champions KKR, however, have neither confirmed nor denied the report.

The right-handed batsman has been a key member for the Kolkata Knight Riders. In the four matches this season, Pandey has scored 90 runs. He scored a brilliant half-century off just 29-balls in the match against Mumbai Indians.

With Pandey ruled out, it will be interesting to see who captain Gautam Gambhir will field in place of him.

Pandey was the Man of the Match in the finals of IPL 2014 when KKR defeated the Kings XI Punjab to win their second title.
