Cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar made headlines throughout the year 2019 because of his banter with fans and cricketers on social media. In an interview, Manjrekar had himself termed 2019 as the worst year for him as far as cricket analysis is concerned.
During the 50-overs 2019 World Cup in England, Sanjay Manjrekar had created controversy by saying that he is not a fan of 'bits and pieces' players like Jadeja. Manjrekar’s comments led to Jadeja expressing his frustration on Twitter asking the former to learn to respect people who have achieved something.

“Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I am still playing. Learn to respect people who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea,” Jadeja had tweeted.
Manjrekar, who was earlier involved in a spat with Ravindra Jadeja during WC 2019, seems to have gotten tangled in another controversy after one of the Twitter users claims to have leaked his alleged personal chats.
One of the messages read, “Sad state you are in. Expecting me to worship players like you do… by the way I am not a fan. I am an analyst. And Jadeja doesn’t know English so he did not know the actual meaning of bits and pieces. And surely somebody spelt verbal diarrhoea for him.”
“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar had earlier said in 2019.
