After facing back-to-back losses from Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, the RCB bounced back and made a terrific comeback by sealing a 112-run win against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Sunday. Post winning the toss, the Bangalore-based franchise posted a total of 171/5 in their 20-over quota after terrific half-centuries from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. In reply, a storm from Wayne Parnell restricted Rajasthan to 59 in the 11th over.

Apart from Faf and Maxwell, RCB's middle order once again failed but young batter Anuj Rawat came and played a quick-fire knock of 29 not out off just 11 balls and contributed to RCB’s total. For RR, Australian spinner Adam Zampa took two wickets for 25 runs while pacer KM Asif also scalped two wickets after giving away 42 runs.

This was the third-lowest total in the history of the cash-rich league. Post the game, the former Bangalore captain was spotted saying “If I had bowled, they would’ve been all out for 40”, in the changing room video with a laugh.

“Tough pitch. We batted first and assessed the conditions. We batted in the powerplay and thought 160 will be a good score. We have had a good set up till the 15th over. But we managed to capitalize on the momentum shift at the end. Great job”, du Plessis said post-match.

“Bracewell would want to bowl on this every day of the week. We needed a left-arm spinner. May be Shahbaz could have been an option. Wrist spin could have been an attacking option. Hopefully, we can set it up for the last game at the Chinnaswamy. Today was a good one for the team. They needed this confidence to go into the last two games.”
