The IPL auctions will take place this weekend on the 12th and 13th of Feb in Bengaluru. A total of 590 players are set to go under the hammer. There are a total of 370 Indians and 220 overseas players.

Eight of the old franchises had to release most of their players into the auctions while having an option of retaining four players each. The two new franchises Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans will be the debutant teams in this year’s IPL. These two franchises had the option of picking up 3 players from the auction pool before the start of the event.

All the 10 franchises were given a purse balance of Rs.90cr, however, none of the franchises will go to the auction with the full amount as some sum was deducted due to player retentions.
