Virat Kohli returned to the cricket field after a bit of a break, opening the batting for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024. While he could not make much of an impact with the bat in the tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where RCB succumbed to a 6-wicket defeat, his innings turnned out to be the difference between the two sides when RCB faced Punjab Kings (PBKS) at home on Monday (March 26).

Kohli made a splendid 77 off 49 deliveries, an innings studded with 11 fours and 2 sixes that helped Bengaluru chase down 178 with four balls to spare. Post his match-winning knock, Kohli was seen enjoying a video call with his family and he even blew flying kisses, probably to his kids as he recently became a father for the second time, with Anushka and Virat revealing that they had welcomed a baby boy Akaay into their lives on February 15.

As the visuals of Kohli on a video call with his family were shown on broadcast, commentators were talking the viewers through them.

"The responsibilities never end, and if you have played a knock like this, then talking to family is all the more special,” a commentator said on air as Kohli appeared happy while on the call.

"I feel he is looking at his young one and is very happy," ex-India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has returned to the commentary box with IPL 2024 was heard saying. "The match is over but daddy duty begins. He is daddy cool,” he added.
