IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals support staff gave a glimpse of how the situation was like in the bio-bubble after the IPL was suspended. The chaos that followed was expressed by the RR support staff in a video. In the video, the RR staff was seen saying how the situation was of "complete chaos". In an official statement, BCCI said, "The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting have unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect."
"It was complete chaos for the next three to four hours. Before any state borders are closed for the domestic players. The challenge was with the international guys on how they are going to go back because India was put on the red list," Arjun Dev, Rajasthan Royals Team Coordinator, said.
"The BCCI took a decision because the situation is going out of control and before it gets worse, they took this wise decision and I am with them," the RR team manager said.
"So there was a time when I was talking on two phones. On one phone, I was booking a domestic flight and on the other, I was booking an international flight," said Dev.
"While going also, we made sure that everyone is wearing a PPE kit that was the biggest precaution. The doctors also said that make sure that the players wore a PPE kit as well," said Harshal Merchant, Assistant Logistics Manager of RR in the video.
"Well it sounds easy when I say it, but trust me, it wasn't easy at all," concluded Dev.
