South Africa have unveiled their 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in the Caribbean and the United States of America, with Aiden Markram at the helm. Markram, who has been leading the Proteas since the T20 World Cup 2022 setback in Australia, will continue to captain the team.

Most of the squad is as expected with a few minor changes. Temba Bavuma, the former South African T20 captain, has not been included and notable absentees from the previous tournament's squad include pacer Lungi Ngidi and top-order batter Rilee Rossouw, who is currently plying his trade for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Anrich Nortje Set For Reuturn

Bowler Anrich Nortje makes his comeback to the national side after a nine-month absence due to a lengthy injury break. Nortje recently returned to competitive cricket in the CSA T20 Challenge and has been featuring in the ongoing IPL 2024 for the Delhi Capitals. Left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin has earned a place in the squad and emerging talents Ryan Rickelton and Ottniel Baartman have been recognized for their consistent performances in the SA20 tournament.

South Africa has announced a squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Players like Rassie van der Dussen, Matthew Breetzke, Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo and Wiaan Mulder, who missed out on the World Cup squad, have been included. Additionally, uncapped leg-spinner Nqaba Peter, the second highest wicket-taker in the CSA T20, has earned a spot in the squad. Some players finishing their IPL commitments might also be available for the three-match T20 series against the West Indies.
