MS Dhoni is one of the greatest Indian captains to have played the game. Even though he took retirement from international cricket, Dhoni remains a legend in the sport. Be it for India, or CSK in IPL, what Dhoni has achieved as a skipper, other cricketer has. Veteran Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan who has played under Dhoni’s captaincy came up with a few insights on his leadership style. During his interaction on ‘The Ranveer Show Hindi’, Dhawan disclosed that Dhoni has a calm and composed personality when he is on the field.

"Dhoni bhai created a very relaxed environment within the team. He is very chilled out. He only said things that needed to be said, and his presence was quite calm," Dhawan revealed.

"He is a very fun-loving guy. He is a very simple and down-to-earth person. He too is aggressive at times, but he restrains himself as he knows that it could spoil the environment. That's his maturity. He has a lot of self-control," he added.

Since the Ranchi-based player has taken retirement from international cricket, Dhawan on the other side is not in the scheme of things in any of the three formats. However, Dhawan has been in a scintillating form in this 2023 edition of IPL as he scored 126 runs in 2 matches, including his brilliant knock of 86 off 56 balls against Rajasthan Royals.

"I'm not in the team. I was playing earlier, I was leading the Indian team. Now, I'm not there, I was dropped. Shubman is doing very good, and I had poor performances in 1 or 2 series, and I was dropped. But I can't sit on it and be sad. But I don't think about that. I'm like, 'Whatever god has planned for me, it's for my good'. So, I don't feel bad about that," Shikhar Dhawan said.
