The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one cricket tournament which brings cricketers from around the world together. Players get to know each other and their cultures better as they get to share the dressing room. The IPL has breached the barriers of nationality. Yet another example of the same has come to the fore in a recent video shared by Mumbai Indians (MI) on their social media.

While former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond might well be a member of the Rajasthan Royal (RR) now, he was for several years an important member of the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp. Ahead of RR's home match against MI at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Bond decided to have a bit of a fun with MI star Rohit Sharma who was the captain of the franchise when Bond was its bowling coach. Understandably, the two share a relationship of trust and friendship.

Bond came from behind Rohit during what seemed to be a training session for both the teams and started to give the MI batter a kiss. Initially, IPL's five-time winning captain with MI was surprised but upon realising that it was his old colleague at the franchise, Rohit smiled as RR's Ravichandran Ashwin looked on. A video of the incident has gone viral.

RR vs MI in IPL 2024 On April 22

Meanwhile, RR and MI are set to lock horns against each other on April 22 (Monday). While the hosts are at the top of the IPL 2024 points table with 6 wins from 7 matches and a net run rate (NRR) of +0.677, MI find themselves languishing at the bottom half of the IPL 2024 points table with 6 points from 7 matches. While RR would want to continue the winning momentum, MI would be desperate to register a few wins and not lag behind in the race to the IPL 2024 Playoffs.
