Former India captain Sourav Ganguly and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan came face to face at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru ahead of the WPL 2024 opening ceremony. While Ganguly was the first captain of the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he was then removed as the captain following the team's failures.
However, the duo seemed to have put the past behind them and met each other in a warm embrace ahead of the first match of the season between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI), the two teams which met in the final of the inaugural season. Ganguly happens to the Director Of Cricket at DC and was there at the stadium for his side's pre-match training when he met the Bollywood superstar who will perform at the opening ceremony. A video of them interacting and hugging has taken the internet by storm.

Sourav Ganguly Meets DC Skipper Meg Lanning
Before Opener Other than Shah Rukh, Ganguly also spent a considerable amount of time with his team skipper Meg Lanning. While Ganguly is widely regarded as one of the greatest captains ever to have played the game, Lanning too is one of the greatest skippers in the women's game, leading Australia to five titles as the captain.
DC shared a picture of the two intearacting on its social media, a post which instantly went viral online.
