Rishabh Pant, captain of the Delhi Capitals men's cricket team and their head coach Ricky Ponting have wished their women's side the best ahead of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 final. Notably, Meg Lanning & Co. have made their way into their second straight final at the WPL and are all set to meet the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the summit clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday (March 17).

A video was released by the franchise on their social media ahead of the WPL 2024 summit clash. "𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 wishes, 𝐟𝐭. 𝐑𝐏²," the clip was captioned.

DC To Begin IPL Campaign On March 23

While the women's franchise of DC will hope to get their hands on trophy which their men's counterpart haven't been able to do despite participating in every season of the competition since its inception in 2008, the men's team too would look to end their trophy drought this season.

In a big boost to the side, captain Rishabh Pant, who was ruled out of IPL 2023 after sustaining injuries in a near-fatal car crash in December 2022, has been deemed fit for IPL 2024. The wicketkeeper-batter will mark a return to competitive cricket with this tournament and DC would hope that he goes up and running from the first match. In Pant's absence, it was David Warner who had led the side last year, not too much success, however, as the team finished ninth on the points table with 10 points from 14 matches.

With Pant back at the helm of affairs, DC would hope for a change of fortunes and perhaps their hands at the silverware that has eluded them all these years.
