Virat Kohli is set to make his comeback to cricketing action with the onset of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, commencing from March 22 onwards. Virat Kohli missed out on the India vs England test series, making the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season particularly significant for him. His last T20 International appearance for the Indian cricket team was during the three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan in January. He missed the opening match of the series due to personal reasons. The Ind vs Afg T20 series was Kohli's first match for India since the T20 World Cup in Australia.

In the last two T20Is Kohli played against Afghanistan, he scored 29 runs off 16 balls in 2nd T20I and registered a golden duck in the 3rd T20I encounter.

Recent media reports suggest that Kohli's inclusion in India's squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 depends on his performance in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 35-year-old star boasts an impressive T20 international career, having played 117 T20 matches for India, amassing 4037 runs, including one century and 37 half-centuries.

In his illustrious IPL career spanning 237 matches, Virat Kohli has amassed a staggering total of 7263 runs, including seven centuries and fifty half-centuries. Notably, all of these runs have been accumulated while representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
