RCB vs SRH HIGHLIGHTS: Hyderabad Beat Bengaluru By 25 Runs In High Run-Scoring Feast
RCB vs SRH HIGHLIGHTS: In a match in which 549 runs were scored, SRH eventually beat RCB by 25 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
There it is. It's official. SRH win. They beat RCB by 25 runs in a high run-scoring feast at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. What a game. Plenty of records broken and a few innings that will be remembered for a long time but in the end it was the Orange Army who ended up on the winning side. Misery continues for RCB in IPL 2024
RCB Need 44 from 6 balls. Impossible, if not bowled through extras from Bhuvi.
Natarajan finally gets the better of Karthik but what an effort this has been from the wicketkeeper-batter. He eventually falls for 83 off 35 after edging one to the keeper. RCB-244/7 after 18.5 Overs.
DK's Valiant Knock Going In Vain, it looks like so. RCB fetch 14 runs off the over but RCB are 230/6. They still need 58 runs from 12 balls.
Bhuvi To Bowl 2 Of The Last 3 Overs. RCB need 72 runs to win.
Six to start and six to finish the over from DK but RCB- 216/6 after 17 overs. They need 72 runs from 18 balls.
23-Ball 50 For Karthik then, gets there with a SIX off Cummins. Still need a mountain of runs needed by Bengaluru.
Good comeback by the bowler after that first-ball six. RCB: 199/6
SIXX! First ball of the 16th over. It's Natarajan who is bowling this over for SRH.
Superb Over From Cummins. Gives away just 5 and gets a wicket. RCB- 187/6. They need 101 runs from 30 balls.
Impact Sub Anuj Rawat joins Karthik in the middle. RCB- 181/6 after 14.1 Overs.
But Cummins has returned and got rid of Lomror first ball. RCB batter chops one onto the stumps. He falls for 19 off 11. RCB- 181/6 after 14.1 Overs.
DK special this so far. Lomror and DK had found the boundaries that ignited a spark but DK has gone berserk in this over as well. He smashes back-to-back fours and a six later in the over. He then smashed a boundary to end over. 21 runs off the over. RCB- 181/5 after 14 overs.
Markande's first 3 overs had gone for 21 but his last went for 25. Three sixes and a boundary in that over. Two sixes from Lomror, a six and a four off the bat of DK. Markande finishes with 2 for 46. RCB- 160/5 after 13 overs.
Markande will bowl out. 3 overs, 2 for 21 so far.
Things have slowed down in this match, probably for the first time. Markande delivers a 5-run over. RCB- 127/5 after 11 overs. They Need 161 runs from 54 deliveries.
Dinesh Karthik, Mahipal Lomror in the middle for RCB.
Cummins gets another. It's a second wicket in the over for Cummins. Saurav Chauhan goes for a golden duck, out LBW. RCB- 122/5 after 10 overs.
Pat Cummins might have conceded a SIX and FOUR earlier in the over but he gets rid Faf du Plessis third ball, a bit of a tickle through to the keeper. Du Plessis was looking good and perhaps held the key to RCB's chase who now find themselves at 121/4 after 9.3 overs.
Rajat Patidar has a short stay at the wicket. He did smash a six earlier in the Markande over but trying to repeat a similar result, he holes out, falling for 9 off 5. RCB- 111/3 after 9 overs.
Rajat Patidar walks in at 4.
Second wicket in two overs and it's Will Jacks who is caught short of his crease at the non-striking end. Du Plessis straight shot, deflected off Unadkat's hands to hit the stumps at the other end. 16 runs had come off the over before this with the help of a SIX and a FOUR of Du Plessis and a boundary from Jacks. The South African also completed a fifty in that over but it has ended with Hyderabad getting a wicket. RCB- 100/2 after 8 overs.
Jaydev Unadkat into the attack.
Exceptional over, given the circumstances. 5 runs and a wicket off it. RCB- 84/1 after 7 overs.
Will Jacks comes in at 3 for RCB.
There's the wicket for SRH. Mayank Markande gets them the first one and it's a massive one, that of the tournament's leading run-getter so far. He falls for 42 off 20, after being cleaned up by a google from the leg-spinner. Chinnaswamy is suddenly quiet. RCB- 80/1 after 6.2 Overs.
End of powerplay. RCB- 79/0 after 6 overs. What a match we are witnessing here in Bengaluru. 9 runs off the sixth over, seems like a good one, under the circumatsnaces. A boundary each from the bat of Kohli and Du Plessis in that one.
IPL 2024: SRH captain Pat Cummins into the attack.
No half measures from Kohli, for every critic who was questioning his strike rate. He has smashed a FOUR and a SIX in that Natarajan over. RCB- 70/0 after 5 overs. GAME ON then. RCB need 218 runs from 90 balls.
T Natarajan, left-arm pacer, comes into the attack.
Bhuvi, Shahbaz Ahmed The Two Bowlers Used So Far and they have both been taken to the cleaners.
8 Boundaries, 3 Sixes already in the innings and it's only 4 overs so far.
This isn't over. RCB have come out with intent. They have had bit of luck go their way but this match is far from over especially after the start Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis have provided to the team. RCB are 56/0 after 4 overs. Virat Kohli- 25* off 12, Du Plessis- 31* off 12. Bengaluru need 232 runs from 96 deliveries.
A catch drop to finish the innings for Bengaluru and that somehow sums up their day on the field. SRH finish at 287/3 in their 20 overs. 21 runs coming off the final over. Bengaluru have a mountain to climb at this stage. Let us gather our emotions before we make sense of SRH effort.
SRH go past 277. They are on 278 now. Still 3 balls to go. Where will this innings end? What have we just witnessed in Bengaluru.
Samad fetches 6 and 4 off the final 2 balls. SRH- 266/3. Abdul Samad- 29 off 7. Surely not another IPL best-ever total or is it? Let's find out.
Topley will bowl the 19th over. FOUR, FOUR and SIX from Samad. Man 277 is attainable which is the world record. What is the scene with this SRH innings?
Samad has ended over number 18 with a boundary. That makes it 10 runs off the Yash Dayal over. SRH- 241/3 after 18 overs.
Abdul Samad Joins Markram with 3 overs to go.
And Klaasen departs. SRH- 231/3 after 17 overs. 14 runs and a wicket coming off this over and Ferguson delivered a wide full toss which was played straight to the man at point which yielded RCB a wicket. A six each off the bat of Markram and Klaasen in that over before the wicket. Hyderabad- 231/3 after 17 overs.
Ferguson will bowl out. Can RCB keep it down to under 250? Last 4 overs to go.
16 overs bowled. SRH- 217/2. Current run rate: 13.56. Heinrich Klaasen- 60* off 27, Aiden Markram- 9* off 6.
Topley returns and it's a SIX off Klaasen off the second ball of the 16th over, over long on. There is no stopping this carnage. Will SRH break their previous record? Surely possible.
A 23-Ball 50 For Klaasen. A six and a four off his bat in the over, with a boundary off the bat of Markram sandwhiched in between. 16 runs off the over. 200 up for Hyderabad. SRH- 205/2 after 15 overs.
Aiden Markram Has Joined Klaasen after the fall of the second wicket, by the way.
Vyshak Into The Attack. His third over. Where will this run flow stop ?
It's Klaasen Who Has TAKEN THE CHARGE after Head's wicket of finding the boundaries. Lomror got an over but not a problem for the South African who smashes two sixes off the over. SRH- 189/2 after 14 overs.
3 Runs And A Wicket Off The 13th over. Klaasen getting the boundaries in that over. A SIX befor the wicket of Head, a boundary after. SRH- 171/2 after 13 overs.
A huge sigh of relief for RCB and Bengaluru fans as they finally see the back of Head. Ferguson gets his wicket only after the southpaw had smashed 102 off 41 deliveries. It's caught at mid-off, Du Plessis making no mistake. SRH- 165/2 after 12.3 Overs.
It's back-to-back boundaries off the bat of Head. He moves onto the 90s. SRH bring up their 150 in the 12th over. Is this a cricket match or a video game? Crazy how easily and how often SRH have been putting on these batting displays.
Vyshak returns for a second over.
What is a tight over and what isn't in the context of this innings? Dayal concedes 14 runs off his third. SRH- 142/1 after 11 overs.
And Klaasen with his first six of the evening. In his zone and its put away over midwicket for a maximum.
Dayal for a third over now.
Halfway through. That's 10 overs bowled. Only just is what all the RCB fans will think. SRH have piled on 128/1 already. Heinrich Klaasen- 3* off 5, Travis Head- 86* off 33. SRH- 128/1 after 10 overs.
It was a successful over for RCB but SRH still manage 2 boundaries off it. It's that man Head once again who has caused Bengaluru harm again. First one through the deep third region before a boundary in the point region. 11 runs and a wicket in that over. SRH- 119/1 after 9 overs.
Abhishek goes but Klaasen walks in. Wow, some line up this for SRH and they are all in dangerous mood this IPL.
Finally a wicket for RCB. It's Topley who produces it, first ball of his second over. Abhishek tries to clip it away on to the side and clear the fence but does not quite get the desired connection. He falls for 34 off 22. SRH- 108/1 after 8.1 Overs.
5 sixes off the next five balls. So a good comeback from the bowler after that first-ball six and the situation is such that even an 11-run over, seems like a good job given the way SRH has gone about their business so far.
Oh hello?! No need of a sighter for a new bowler too and this time it's Abhishek who smashed Vyshak for a six first ball. It's dispatched for a straight six over long off.
What an innings this is from Head. He is no mood to stop and even Jacks can't stop him. Who cares that the powerplay is now over, he says and smashes Jacks for FOUR, SIX, SIX off successive deliveries. Hyderabad get 21 runs off the over. Wow, will we see SRH shatter their own record of the highest team total set earlier in the tournament? Let's find out. SRH-97/0 after 7 overs.
Jacks returns. His 2 overs have been economical so far. Will that continue to be the trend?
This is completely the opposite of a tight over. Head has taken Yash to the cleaners. Two sixes in the over off Head. One over long-on, the other over midwicket. Then a boundary through covers. Hyderabad are making a mockery of the Bengaluru bowling. A 20-ball half-century for Head. SRH- 76/0 after 6 overs. Current run rate- 12.66. The second 20-run over in the powerplay. Sheer dominance from the touring party.
It is Dayal who will be finishing off the powerplay for Bengaluru. Can he bowl a tight over here?
Ferguson Into the Attack but Head has welcomed him with some blistering shots. BACK-TO-BACK sixes off the bat of Australian. The first one over squae leg, then over deep midwicket. Head then manages to end the over with a boundary as well. What attacking batting this. Even the extra pace of Ferguson leaking runs for RCB at this moment. SRH- 56/0. 18 runs off the 5th over.
Abhishek finds the boundary in the over as SRH get 7 runs off it. SRH- 38/0 after 4 overs.
Yash Dayal Replaces Topley. Probably a forced change after that 20-run over.
A tidy over from Jacks after that expensive over. Just 4 singles from it. SRH- 31/0 after 3 overs.
The Orange Army has taken off and how. A SIX and A Four in that over off the bat of Head before a Maximum to end the over from Abhishek. This has been their template and signs already of a massive score here as SRH score 20 runs off the second over. SRH- 27/0 after 2 overs.
Reece Topley has the ball in hand for RCB from the other end.
It's Abhishek who finds the first boundary of the match. Uppercut over point to find the fence. That allows The Orange Army to fetch 7 runs off the opening over. SRH- 7/0 after the 1st over.
Here we go then. It's Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma who open the innings for Hyderabad. Will Jacks has the ball in hand for RCB. This promises to be an exciting game.

Background
RCB vs SRH LIVE SCORE: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 fixture being played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This is match number 30 of the 17th edition of the cash-rich league and the two teams find themselves in the contrasting halves of the points table. While SRH are at the fourth place on the table with 3 wins from 5 games in IPL 2024, RCB are one team that find themselves langushing at the bottom of the table with only a solitary win from five matches.
For RCB, it is slowly appearing to be another season of heartbreak as they have seemingly left themselves a mountain to climb or so it seems at this stage of the competition. Virat Kohli may well be in good form but their bowling has let them down big time, not for the first time in the competition's history. For SRH, it is their batters who have helped them post humungous totals, in a way compensating for their bowling performance which hasn't been as effective as they would have liked. Be it Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen or Abdul Samad, Hyderabad's batting unit has no shortage of firepower or depth which make them a dangerous side.
All of these hints at a high-scoring contest in a venue known for big scores- the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Will RCB finally comeback to winning ways or will it be more misery for the Faf du Plessis-led side?
