WPL 2024, RCB vs GG LIVE SCORE: RCB Beat Gujarat Giants By 8 Wickets
WPL 2024, RCB vs GG LIVE SCORE: Bangalore put on a clinical performance on the field to restrict Gujarat to 107/7 in their 20 overs.
Elysse Perry finishes the match with a boundary as RCB sail past dismal Gujarat Giants side.
Ashleigh Gardner departs Sophie Devine in her first over as the Kiwi batter's sluggish form continues.
Smriti Mandhana reaches 25 within 14 balls, as the Indian opener is dismantling Gujarat Giants Women.
Wareham finishes the innings with a decent over. What a clinical bowling performance this by RCB after winning the toss. Sophie Molineux (3/25), Renuka Singh (2/14) finishing as the pick of the bowlers but fair to say a disappointing batting performance too by Gujarat who played more than 11 overs worth of dot deliveries Eventually, GG finish at 107/7. At this stage, definite advantage to the home team. Stay Tuned For the second innings!
9 Runs, 1 Wicket Off The 19th Over. The wicket off the last ball as Rana is out stumped, no where near her crease. Hemalatha had earlier smashed a six in the over. RCB- 98/7 after 19 overs.
Last 2 Overs. Sophie Molineux bowling the penultimate over.
Sneh Rana joins Dayalan Hemalatha in the middle as Gujarat look to cross 100-run mark.
There's another wicket! Kathryn Bryce sees her stumps getting rattled. She falls for 0 off 3 as Molineux adds to her wickets tally. Bangalore- 73/6 after 16.1 Overs.
More Than 10 Overs Of Dot Balls already in this innings.
Another one goes back in the pavilion as GG look to up the ante. This time it's Gardner who falls. Wareham gets the wicket. Batter gets beaten in the flight, trying to smash it over the park only hits it up the air and as far as extra cover where Smriti Mandhana completes the catch. GG- 70/5 after 15.1 Overs.
Ashleigh Gardner and Dayalan Hemalatha at the moment.
Second Wicket in the over then for Gujarat as Harleen Deol gets run out for 22 off 31. Terrible mix up, no way Deol was getting back after almost completing a run herself. She is miles out of her crease! RCB- 50/4 after 11 overs.
Third wicket down! GG going nowhere with this innings. Despite getting saved twice, Krishanamurthy departs. Goes for the big one but is holed out at midwicket. GG- 45/3 in 10.2 overs.
Veda Survives, not once but twice so far due to DRS. Both time the on-field call was out but turned out, she wasn't.
Fair to say passage of play till here has been dominated by RCB as GG struggle at 43/2 with 3 coming off the 9th over bowled by Sophie Molineux. Harleen Deol- 17* off 27, Veda Krishnamurthy- 9* off 8.
Wow! Will that be the shot that changes GG's fortunes in the match and the tournament? Veda reads the length early on the offstump and then smashed it over backward point for a maximum off Ellyse Perry.
Veda Krishnamurthy comes in at 4.
WICKET!! It's Renuka Singh and just after the momentum shifting over RCB have found a way to break the stand. Phoebe Litchfield's backfoot is caught on the line as she is stumped by Ghosh. GG- 30/2 after 6.2 overs.
Now then, 13 came off that over. Much needed for GG as Deol find a couple of boundaries off Patil before Litchfield ended the over with another. Good over that from Gujarat's perspective to finish the over. GG- 29/1 after 6 overs.
Quite a start this for Bangalore. They have only conceded 16 runs off the first overs and even managed to pick a wicket. Pressure on GG batters- Harleen Deol and Phoebe Litchfield.
Phoebe Litchfield In At 3 for Gujarat Giants.
There's the early wicket and Renuka Singh has got rid of the big fish, Mooney with a great delivery. Mooney has no clue where that one came in from and sees her stumps rattled. GG-11/1 after 2.3 overs.
End of a tidy over from Devine. Just a couple off the first ball followed by 5 dots. GG- 7/0 after 2 overs.
5 runs off the first over, including a bounadry off the bat of Mooney. Sophie Devine to share the new ball with Renuka.
Out come the GG openers- Harleen Deol and Beth Mooney. Renuka Singh with the new ball in hand for RCB.

BREAKING NEWS: RCB choose to field first!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Giants, WPL 2024 fixture match number 5. The contest will be coming your way live from the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Background
WPL 2024, RCB vs GG LIVE SCORE: Match number 5 of the Women's Premier League (WPL) is all set to be played between Gujarat Giants (GG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday (February 27). The two teams had finished at the bottom of the points table last season, with very little differentiating the two. Both sides, consequetly, finished fourth and fifth in the five-team table with RCB's better net run rate implying they remain at the number four place.
In the ongoing season, it has been a contrasting start for both the sides although only four matches have happenedso far. While Bangalore managed to beat UP Warriorz in their first match in what was a last-ball finish, Gujarat Giants succumbed to a 5-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI). Gujarat would now have a chance to get off the mark on the points table as they remain one of the two teams yet to taste a win with UP Warriorz being the other, having lost each of their two matches in the tournament so far.
To make matters for Gujarat Giants, the crowd support will be massively tilted in favour of RCB who will play at their home. Those that don the GG jersey in the stands will be among the minority. That sets up the stage perfectly for Bangalore though, who will want to use that crowd to their advantage and play a fearless brand of cricket against a team which will be under pressure, having already finished at the last place in 2023 and losing the first game of the brand new season as well.
That makes it for an interesting fixture on the cards in WPL 2024.
