The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season kicked off on March 22 (Friday). Initially, the schedule was announced only for the first 21 matches until April 7 due to clashes with the country's Lok Sabha Elections. However, on Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the remaining schedule, culminating in the final to be held in Chennai on May 26th.

All 74 matches of the tournament are slated to be held in India, taking into account the general election dates, with the pivotal stages set to unfold in Ahmedabad and Chennai.

Following their opener against DC on March 23, Punjab will face now Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 25 (Monday). Subsequently, they will face off against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 30 and April 4, respectively.

Punjab Kings, formerly known as Kings XI Punjab, have been a consistent presence in the IPL since its inception in 2008.
