Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni is widely regarded as the 'Captain Cool'. Over the years, the man has made it a habit to remain calm which allows him to stay in control and perform well not only as a batter but also bring out the best from his boys. However, even the legendary skipper is humane after all and tends to lose his cool during rare instances on the cricket field.
One such incident happened during the IPL 2023 face off between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. During a tensed sirtuation in RCB's run chase of 227, Moeen Ali missed a run-out opportunity in the 18th over of the innings, being bowled by Matheesha Pathirana, when Wayne Parnell took off for a single straight away after hitting the ball straight to extra-cover where the England star was stationed.
The non-striker Suyash Prabhudessai did not respond to Parnell's call for a run and the two batters were nearly at the same end creating an easy chance for a run out. However, Moeen failed to collect the ball cleanly in the first attempt and took his own time before throwing it back to Dhoni. By the time, Dhoni dislodged the bails the batter had returned back to his crease.
Even though Dhoni did not utter words, a video of his miffed expression has surfaced on social media.
However, eventually the misfield did not cost CSK much as they ended up on the winning side, beating RCB by 8 runs. This was the franchise's third win in five games and one that has taken them to the third place in the points table. Meanwhile, this was Bangalore's third loss in five matches and they find themselves at the seventh place on the points table.
