SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the 13th edition of the IPL after injuring his right ankle during SRH's opening game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on September 21. West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder will replace him.
This is not the first time Marsh has had to leave IPL midway due to an injury. In the year 2017, Marsh, who then played for Rising Pune Supergaints, got ruled out of the entire season due to a shoulder injury.
Last year in December, Marsh was bought by SRH in the auctions for INR 2 Crore, his base price. The star player's will be missed by his franchise on fresh pitches, where pitches in UAE will be favoring the bowlers more in the starting phase of the IPL.
"Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out due to injury. We wish him a speedy recovery. Jason Holder will replace him for #Dream11IPL 2020," Sunrisers Hyderabad said in an official statement on Twitter.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad team had to face many challenged in their opening match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
SRH struggled through their game against RCB. Initially, the overall performance of the team remained low. What added more to the plight was the injury of Rashid Khan mid-match.
Padikkal stood out as a fiery opener but apart from him, skipper Virat Kohli helped Royal Challengers Bangalore register their first win in IPL 2020.
