Skipper Rohit Sharma's two big-hitting lieutenants Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya powered Mumbai Indians to 208/5 at Sharjah cricket stadium on Sunday. Krunal Pandya started his innings with a six and scored 20 runs off just four balls to help Mumbai Indians post a mammoth 208/5.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. Skipper Rohit Sharma and his partner Quinton de Kock walked out in the middle to start the proceedings for his team. Sandeep Sharma got an early breakthrough with the new white ball as he departed Rohit Sharma for just 6 runs in the very first over.

Suryakumar Yadav (27 runs off 18 balls) was the next man in. After hitting Kaul for five fours in less than two overs, his counter-attack came to an end after he flicked the ball to the man at short fine leg to give SRH their second wicket.

At the end of powerplay, Mumbai Indians managed to reach 48/2 which was the lowest powerplay score in the last seven innings at Sharjah cricket ground. Manish Pandey spilled a simple catch to give second life to Quinton de Kock and over that he got six lucky runs.

At the half-wa mark, Mumbai Indians were 90/2 with Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock in the middle. Kane Williamson too was introduced into the attack and he finished a tight over giving just 7 runs from it.

Meanwhile, De Kock scored his 11th IPL half-century -- first of IPL 2020 -- to bring 100 up for Mumbai Indians. Rashid Khan bagged a great running catch off his own bowling to remove the well-set Quinton de Kock for 67.

Ishan Kishan was looking dangerous with the bat but Manish Pandey took a spectacular catch diving to his right to get rid of the MI batsman for 31 runs off 23 balls. Ishan looked to go for a six but failed to put the required power behind that shot and hence Pandya took a stunner after dropping a sitter earlier in the game.

Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard started dealing in fours and sixes in the death overs to help their team achieve a high first innings total. Hardik was castled by Kaul with a pin-point yorker for 28. His brother Krunal Pandya in the last over smashed 20 runs off just 4 balls to power his team to 2018/5 in their 20 overs.
