Mumbai Indians registered a fanatic win on Sunday against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium with Rohit Sharma scoring a brilliant half-century. After this win, Mumbai moved to 16 points on the Indian Premier League points table. Cameron Green also hammered an unbeaten hundred that came in just 47 balls. If Mumbai wants to seal a place in the playoffs, Royal Challengers Bangalore have to lose the game against defending champions Gujarat Titans.  During the last IPL season, the situation was the opposite as Mumbai’s outcome had a connection with RCB’s playoffs qualification. A five-wicket win for Mumbai Indians against Delhi Capitals helped the Bangalore-based franchise go ahead to the next round as the 4th placed team.

Speaking after the match, MI skipper Rohit said,  “Last year, we did a big favour to RCB, I hope we get the result what we are looking for.”

“We did a lot of things right as we went along. We didn’t start well and then won three on the trot. The crucial moments in the game that we lost – there were a lot of moments like that. The game against Punjab here where we needed around 34 runs off 18 balls, we could have probably played well. And the last game against LSG, we had the game in our hands after the first half of the innings. We can’t look too much into that. Sometimes it just doesn’t come along.”

Talking about the game, Cameron Green came up with an unbeaten century for Mumbai Indians while chasing 201 runs. Talented speedster Akash Madhwal starred for Mumbai with the ball as he scalped four wickets, helping Mumbai to an eight-wicket win over SRH.

Madhwa’s lethal bowling at the death overs forced Sunrisers to collect just 32 runs in the last four overs as they ended up making  200/5.
