Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma scripted history as he became only the second Indian batter to cross the milestone of 11,000 runs in the T20s and also joined Virat Kohli in the high-profile list. The Mumbai-based batter reached this milestone in the 69th game of the IPL 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday where he led the team from the front and scored 56 off 36 balls.
Mumbai were chasing a total of 201 runs and they got it easily with the help of Rohit Sharma’s fifty and Cameroon Green’s hundred. Mumbai’s skipper collected his second half-century of the season, guiding his team to a fantastic win by eight wickets.

" We came with that mindset, we wanted to win and not worry about what happens elsewhere. What you can control, you can control and then hope for the best. I haven't spoken to anyone. If we don't go through, we've got ourselves to blame for it. If we go through, I'll give all the credit to the boys. That's how it works. Last year, we did a big favour to RCB, I hope we get the result what we are looking for. We did a lot of things right as we went along. We didn't start well and then won three on the trot."
"The crucial moments in the game that we lost - there were a lot of moments like that. The game against Punjab here where we needed around 34 runs off 18 balls, we could have probably played well. And the last game against LSG, we had the game in our hands after the first half of the innings. We can't look too much into that. Sometimes it just doesn't come along", Rohit Sharma said after the game.
While playing a knock of 56 runs, Rohit also scored Mumbai Indians in the IPL alongside surpassing 11,000 runs in the T20s. He was going through a torrid form this season but this knock will give him a lot of confidence ahead of the much-awaited WTC Finals.
