England’s speedster Jofra Archer’s elbow injury forced him out of the action for more than a year but then he made a comeback in the ongoing IPL 2023 for Mumbai Indians. However, his elbow injury has started troubling him again. In the IPL 2023, he missed out on playing four straight games for Mumbai Indians, and head coach Mark Boucher then stated that it was a minor niggle which is why Archer missed games for Mumbai. According to the reporting The Telegraph, it has been noticed that the talented pacer visited an elbow specialist in Belgium.

“The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that Archer had visited his specialist in Belgium. It is understood that, after assessment by the specialist, Archer underwent what sources describe as ‘a minor procedure’, before returning to India,” The Telegraph report said.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians roped in Archer for a whopping amount of 8 crores in the  IPL Mega Auction 2022, despite his unavailability in that season. He donned the Mumbai Jersey in 2023 edition of the IPL. MI co-owner Akash Ambani explained the reason why they got Jofra Archer and said, “So, we had discussed his name previously also and of course, he (Archer) is not available this year but when he is fit and available, I believe that with (Jasprit Bumrah) he will make a formidable partnership”.

"We took all those into consideration. After yesterday, what the fast bowlers went at, one option became very dear to us that Jofra was the only marquee fast bowler left on the list," Akash Ambani was quoted as saying in a virtual press conference by India Today.

Talking about now, England’s pacer is under supervision as he will be playing for England for the Ashes after the IPL.
