Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians Highlights: Defending champions Gujarat Titans (207/6) outplayed Mumbai Indians (152/9) to attain 55-run win over five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winners at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday (April 25). Gujarat Titans now move to the second spot in IPL 2023 Points Table with 10 points, equal to that of table-toppers Chennai Super Kings. Chasing 208 for the win, Mumbai were off to a horrible start. Rohit Sharma fell cheaply for 2 as Mumbai failed to switch gears in the powerplay after a very slow start. Afghan spinners Rashid Khan (2 wickets for 27) and Noor Ahmed (3 wickets for 37) picked five wickets in the middle-overs to bury the game. Suryakumar was off to a great start but couldn't bat long. Tailenders Wadhera and Chawla batted in death overs just to reduce the margin of a crushing defeat.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first against Gujarat Titans who, batting first, were off to a steady start. Even though Shubman Gill remained solid at one end, scoring a 34-ball 56, Mumbai Indians still had things under control. Piyush Chawla and Karthikeya struck in the middle overs to keep Mumbai on top and Gujarat on backfoot. Things turned around in the death overs when Abhinav Manohar and David Miller struck MI bowlers for a couple of fours and a sixes to shift momentum completely in their favour. The duo ensured that boundaries kept coming while hard-hitting Tewatia applied the final touch with a fiery 5-ball 20 runs cameo as the defending champions pulled off another massive total for Mumbai to chase. Gujarat batters were so good in death overs, scoring 94 runs in the last 6 overs.


David Miller (22-ball 46) scored runs with a strike-rate of over 200, Rahul Tewatia notched up an unbeaten 20 off just 5 balls, while Abhinav Manohar took MI bowlers to cleaners, scoring 42 during in just 21 deliveries during his crucial 71 run stand with David Miller for the fifth wicket.
