IPL 2025 Start Date: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla confirmed that Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will kickstart on March 21. The announcement came after much anticipation following the IPL mega auction in November 2024.

Shukla initially mentioned March 23 as Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 start date, but later corrected himself, confirming the tournament will begin on March 21, with the final scheduled for May 25.

Last year's IPL kicked off on March 22 with a match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The tournament concluded with Kolkata Knight Riders emerging as the champions on May 26.






BCCI appoints Devjit Saikia as the new Secretary


In a key meeting held in Mumbai on Sunday (January 12), BCCI appointed Devjit Saikia as the new Secretary and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia as Treasurer.


Also, BCCI has appointed a new IPL commissioner for a one-year term. The board's next meeting on January 18-19 will focus on finalizing India squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.


As of now, only three teams - England, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh - have announced their squads for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
