Initially, 1,574 players registered, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shortlisted 574 players for the event, including 366 Indians, 208 international players, and 3 from associate nations. On Sunday, England opener Jos Buttler will be the first player to be bid on in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Auction. Following him, high-profile players such as Shreyas Iyer, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to the title last season, Rishabh Pant, former captain of Delhi Capitals, South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, and Mitchell Starc, the most expensive player in IPL history, will follow in the bidding process.
