IPL 2024 Match 8, SRH vs MI: In a significant blow to Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of their clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match number 8 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Wednesday (March 27), star batter Suryakumar Yadav will be unavailable for selection.
According to Sports Tak, Suryakumar Yadav, yet to receive a fitness certificate from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, won't be part of Mumbai Indians' (MI) lineup for their upcoming IPL 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Earlier reports indicated that Suryakumar Yadav would undergo a second fitness test on March 21 to determine his eligibility for participation in IPL 2024. However, despite this additional assessment, the star batsman did not receive approval from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) as he missed Mumbai Indians' inaugural IPL match against Gujarat Titans (GT).
Two weeks ago, Suryakumar started his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). It seems like the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is taking a measured approach, refraining from rushing the MI star's return to competitive cricket as the 33-year-old India's plans for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Suryakumar Yadav assumed Indian cricket team's T20I captaincy during the South Africa tour. His tenure as India's T20I captain was cut short due to an ankle injury sustained during the tour, preventing the star batter from participating in India's subsequent T20I series against Afghanistan.
To address his sports hernia, Yadav underwent surgery in Germany for specialized treatment. Now, as the senior batter aims to make his comeback to competitive cricket, he will be required to obtain clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Since making his debut in 2012, Suryakumar Yadav has been a consistent presence in the Indian Premier League (IPL), featuring in a total of 11 seasons in his career.
