IPL 2024: Punjab Kings have scripted history in their win over Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, as the Sam Curran-led side have registered 5th consecutive win against the opposition in IPL with their 7-wicket victory. This feat is historic, as only Mumbai Indians are the only side ever to register 5 consecutive wins against 5-time IPL winners (they did it during the 2018-2019 period). With the win, PBKS are now 7th in the table and keep their qualification hopes alive.
Here's What PBKS Players Said In Post-Match Presentation Ceremony
"It was a good wicket to bowl on. Rahul bowled well and we complimented each other very well. Sir, I am playing for 5-6 years. So, I played with lots of legends like MS, and that helps a lot. My aim is not to take wickets and bowl dot ball which creates wicket taking chances. The wicket helped us and it created confidence in us to do well. I was happy with my performance overall tonight. Thank You," said Harpreet Brar, who was awarded the Man of the Match award.
"Very happy. Anytime coming to Chennai and getting two points is a special feeling. We are winning away from home than at home last season. It's about finding the right balance and keep the momentum going and let the table do the rest. Have to keep winning. The conditions are such that we had to win the toss and bowled well. KG bowled well and set the tone for us. The spinners were great Rahul Chahar and Brar bowled well," said Sam Curran, PBKS captain.
"Chahar bowling to MS in the 19th over was great and showed great courage. I got hit a bit. The pacers got hit. Spinners were bowling well. This game can be cruel and we need to be creative as well. We come against the same opposition and are 1-0 up against them. We will take the confidence going ahead. Everything happened well and happy with the 2 points," he added.
