Krwena Maphaka, who was roped in by five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of IPL 2024, was asked a rather tricky question after he joined the rest of his teammates on Thursday (March 21). Notably, while South Africa's U-19 World Cup star was not part of the squad initially, the 17-year-old was named as a replacement after Sri Lanka's Dilshan Madhushanka was ruled out of the tournament with an injury.
In a video posted by MI on their official handle, their admin asked the question on behalf of Maphaka's mother which read: "How Which You Manage Studies?" to which he responded by saying: Yes, it's definitely going to be a difficult time. But it's a lot of extra lessons and a lot of hardwork."
Mapahaka's mother has also accompanied him to Mumbai. "It's an honour. We are very blessed to have Kwena be a part of such a big family of Mumbai Indians and I hope he is going to fit in and be welcomed," she said in the video.

MI Play Their IPL 2024 Opener On March 24
Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to play their Indian Premier League (IPL) opener on March 24 when they take on Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hardik Pandya, who led GT to the IPL 2023 final last year, will be at the helm of affairs for MI this season after the franchise confirmed that he would replace Rohit Sharma as the captain.
With Hardik having changed teams, GT will be captained by Shubman Gill this season. This will be the first captaincy stint for Gill in the T20 tournament and with an eye on the T20 World Cup, his individual performances with the bat could also be critical.
