Indian Premier League 2024: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and head coach Mark Boucher held a press conference on Monday, March 18, on behalf of the Mumbai Indians camp, and addressed various set of questions. However, one such noticeable incident occured when the duo constantly avoided questions over the captaincy change and were seemigly bothered when the media personnel were adamant on that question being asked again and again.

However, Hardik Pandya did give clarification later on in the press conference about the rumours of rift between him and Rohit Sharma. The Indian all-rounder laid emphasis on the fact that Rohit Sharma has had a big impact on his career and that he always has "Rohit Sharma's hand over his shoulder". Hardik Pandya also stated that he has played almost his entire career under him and holds immense admiration and respect for the Hitman.

Hardik Pandya left Mumbai Indians for Gujarat Titans in 2022 and led the newcomers to maiden IPL title in their league debut, and led them to another final and almost did a two-in-two for the franchise, only for a Ravindra Jadeja-masterclass off Mohit Sharma to hit 10 runs off last 2 balls to win the most dramatic Indian Premier League Final of all time.

Hardik Pandya has proven off his captaincy material not just in IPL, but for the national side as well, during India's tour of West Indies, where he led the side in the white-ball format. If things go right, and Hardik wins over the fans with constantly match-winning performances, Mumbai Indians can potentially be in for another trophy-laden decade.
