Robin Minz, the Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter signed by Gujarat Titans (GT) for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, was involved in a bike accident on March 2 (Saturday). His father, Francis Minz, mentioned that Robin is currently under observation, assuring that his condition is not serious. Hailing from Jharkhand, Minz made headlines during the IPL 2024 auctions when the former champions invested Rs 3.60 crore in the 21-year-old talent.

As reported by News18, the incident involving Robin Minz occurred when his Kawasaki superbike collided with another bike on the road, leading to a loss of control. Minz sustained minor bruises on his right knee, and the front half of the superbike was reported to be severely damaged.

“He lost control when his bike came in contact with another bike. Nothing serious at the moment and he is currently under observation," said Francis as reported by News18.

Robin Minz's Cricket Journey

Despite not having made his debut in a first-class game for Jharkhand, Robin Minz achieved a notable milestone by becoming the first tribal cricketer selected in the IPL auction.

Robin Minz holds a strong admiration for MS Dhoni and has received training from the experienced coach Chanchal Bhattacharya, who also mentored India's two-time World Cup-winning captain. Hailing from the Gumla district in Jharkhand, Minz initially caught the attention of the scouting team of Mumbai Indians. With Mumbai Indians' assistance, Robin had the opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom for an exposure trip.

Robin’s father, Francis, who has a background in the military having served as a retired Army professional, is currently employed as a security guard at the Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi.

During the 4th India vs England Test of the ongoing Test series between India and England at the Jharkhand Cricket Association Stadium, Shubman Gill, who serves as Minz's captain at the Gujarat Titans, had a meeting with him. Gill also shared photos of their interaction on social media.
