MS Dhoni in IPL 2024: Following confirmation of his participation in another Indian Premier League (IPL) season, MS Dhoni visited the Maa Ambe temple to seek blessings for himself and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Known for his religious inclinations, Dhoni's religious side often stays out of the limelight, yet it's an annual tradition for the CSK skipper to seek blessings from the Maa Ambe Temple in Ranchi.

A photo of MS Dhoni's visit to Maa Ambe temple was shared by the famous X (formerly Twitter) account of Mufaddal Vohra.

Presently, CSK captain MS Dhoni is in the process of rehabilitating from a knee surgery conducted in June. The extent of Dhoni's participation in the upcoming IPL season remains uncertain. However, following CSK's fifth win, the wicketkeeper-batsman expressed his desire to gift his loyal fans another IPL season, acknowledging their unwavering support and love.

Similar to the previous year, Dhoni will train at the Jharkhand Cricket Association Academy. Notably, the CSK stalwart has begun batting and appears fit.

CSK has retained 19 players and released eight as they embark on their IPL 2024 journey. After securing their fifth IPL trophy in the previous season, the Chennai-based franchise holds a budget of ₹31.4 crore for finalising their squad in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction. The team's primary focus lies on bolstering their bowling unit, aiming to address recent shortages in experience in that department.

Aakash Chopra, former India batter, shared insights into what he believes could be CSK’s strategy at the mini-auction, suggesting potential replacements for Ben Stokes in the squad. According to Chopra, CSK might focus on acquiring New Zealand all-rounders Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell to fill the void left by Stokes.

"They will need an all-rounder. It could be Rachin Ravindra in place of Ben Stokes, or they might look towards Daryl Mitchell. This team might not need spinners because they have Ravindra Jadeja, Prashant Solanki, Moeen Ali and Mitchell Santner," Chopra mentioned on his YouTube channel.
