The Indian Premier League (IPL) is responsible for many talented cricketers finally getting recognition. The latest example from the ongoing edition of the tournament happens to be of Rinku Singh who has become the talk of the cricket enthusiasts after his heroics while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Gujarat Titans.

However, not only mere fans of the game but even renowned cricket experts, former cricketers and the current crop of cricketers have alll taken notice of what Rinku did in the last over of the match where the equation was stacked against the visiting team at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, with 28 needed from 5 balls, Rinku smashed each of the final five balls for sixes to win the game for his side. He finished unbeaten on 48 off 21 but once again proved that in sports nothing is over till it's actually over.

Even one of the best modern-day cricketers and former Team India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was left amazed by Rinku's performance.

“What the youngsters are doing today is amazing to see. Just recently, Rinku Singh hits 5 Sixes in last 5 balls which is amazing & something like that never happened. So that transition is happening is great. It is great to see such youngsters coming up,” he said in an interview on Jio Cinemas.

In the same interview, Kohli talked about how it is important to play as per the situation and not try to go at a strike rat of 160 plus in every game.

“Yeah for sure (important anchor role). I completely agree with that, There are many people who because they have not been in that situation themselves, they look at the game differently. Suddenly when the power play is done, they will be like ‘oh, they have started rotating the strike,” Kohli said.

“I’m not thinking about strike rate. Oh my strike rate must be 160 plus or anything. I play T20 cricket for according to the situation. If situation demands I can play 230 strike rate and I can do this any day. I always play for my team & not for myself,” he added.
