India's Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar are regarded as two of the most legendary batters of all time in the history of sport. Virat is often labeled as Sachin Tendulkar's successor. Recently in an interaction with ex-India cricketer Robin Uthappa on Jio Cinema, Virat Kohli opened up on his comparisons to Sachin. The RCB legend came up with a no-nonsense reply, calling Sachin Tendulkar an 'emotion'.

"For me, Sachin Paaji has always been an emotion. You speak to anyone they always looked at him as one of their own and that happens because there is so much faith everyone has in him, and in fact, when he was playing we used to feel comfortable. He is our source of inspiration and source of comfort which we all look for, when he used to score runs, life was good. It is like eating home food, you know the feel we get, the comfort," said Kohli in an interview on Jio Cinema.
"It is a very different kind of impact that he left on me. People who all like to enjoy comparing and stats, that is okay. I am just happy that in whatever way people see it, I have been able to carry that expectation forward. I can nurture and keep continuing to provide Indian cricket, and I know contributions are important and I feel honored to be in this position. I take a lot of pride in that and I am just grateful that the transition was able to happen soon," he further added.
During the conversation, Virat revealed how his priceless conversations with Anushka stopped him from becoming an 'egoistic maniac'.
"Anushka's conversations with me have always been priceless, she tells me the truth & straight forward, if I would have left myself in that phase (before Asia Cup), I would have become an egoistic maniac - she brings me to base level for a normal guy," he revealed on Jio Cinema.
Sachin and Virat played international cricket together for almost five years. Kohli made his India debut in 2008. The duo was part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team. After this, Sachin retired in the year 2013. Virat is just four centuries away from breaking Sachin's record of most centuries in ODI cricket. It is believed that Kohli will break this record in the ODI World Cup 2023 this year.
