Virat Kohli achived yet another milestone during his already illustrious Indian Premier League (IPL) career. The former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain became the first in the history of the league to get to 7000 runs in the T20 competition.

The right-handed while playing at the ground he played cricket in during his growing up years- the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi- got to the landmark when he touched the 12-run mark during his 46-ball 55 against the Delhi Capitals (DC).

Prior to this fixture, Kohli's overall run tally in the competition was 6988 runs but his half-century meant he suprassed the big milestone. He is the leading run-getter in the history of the T20 tournament and has been in great nick this year as welll with 394 from 10 innings at an an average of 49.25 and a strike rate of 49.25.

Among many records, one of Kohli's record that might just stay unmatched for a long time to come could be Kohli's tally of the highest number of runs in a season. The ex-India captain had accumulated a scarcely believable 973 runs in 2016.

"People talk about 973 like it's 373. I myself feel that was abnormal. It's ridiculous to get judged by that bar everytime in IPL. Those records are unbreakable," Kohli said while talking to Robin Uthappa in a recent interview for Jio Cinema.

Apart from Kohli, Mahipal Lomror scored a half-century for RCB in the match against DC. This was Lomror's maiden fifty in the IPL and one that helped the side change the tempo of the game. Lomror scored 54 off 29 with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes as Bangalore posted 181/4.

Bangalore are currently fifth on the points table with  5 wins and 5 losses from 9 matches. On the other hand, DC are languishing at the bottom of the table with just three wins from 9 games. Having said that all of their wins have come in their last four matches with the David Warner-led side fresh entering this game on the back of a victory over table toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last match.
