India's star wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant arrived in Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday (April 4) to watch his team Delhi Capitals' first home match in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against defending champions Gujarat Titans. Pant, who is still on the road to recovery, was spotted wearing a heavy strapping on his legs as he made his way to the stands with help of crutches. This is Rishabh's maiden appearance at a cricket stadium after he miraculously survived a life-threatening car crash last year in December while on way to his hometown Roorkee in Uttarakhand from Delhi.
In another viral video, Pant was seen arriving at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in an SUV. The star batter was seen wearing a white t-shirt and black shades.
Just a few hours ahead of their first home game on Tuesday, Delhi Capitals wished star batter Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery in an emotional video.
"I hope you are recovering well. Dekh raha hu tere videos ab dhire dhire chal raha hae (Can see you videos are going well now). Baby steps are coming now. Really happy to see how you are recovering," said Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw in the video.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals, in their tournament-opener against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), came up with an emotional tribute for Rishabh Pant as the franchise decided to put his jersey on top of their dugout at Ekana Stadium.
In Pant's absence, former Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner is leading the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023. Notably, the franchise is yet to win an IPL trophy.
