MS Dhoni is one cricketer that has inspired millions in India and around the world. While there are several stories of cricketers achieving unparalleled success, Dhoni's story from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most recognisable faces in world cricketer resonates with masses and gives them a sense of inspiration and motivation.

In addition, the way the former India captain carries himself on and off the field has also helped him make a tremendous fan base. With Dhoni in the twilight of his career, having announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020 and only playing just the IPL, he is expected to call it quits in the near future.

With fans fully aware of that fact, they are flocking to the stadium in large numbers to catch every glimpse of their idol in all parts of India in IPL 2023. Whether or not it is a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) home game, fans have come up in large numbers to cheer for Dhoni wherever the Men in Yellow have played so far in IPL 2023 and it was no different during their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

At the toss when Dhoni was asked about the overwhelming response from the Kolkata crowed, he recalled the job he had taken up with the Indian Railways as a Ticket Examine in Kharagpur, which is about 130 kilometres away from the capital of West Bengal.

"I have played a lot of cricket here in Kolkata. But I won't say quite a lot, because I haven't played U16 or U19, which reduces the number of games. But, you know I had a job in Kharagpur which was 2 hours away from here. So I spent a lot of time over there, played a lot of cricket and also football. So, i think the love comes from there," Dhoni said after the toss.

Meanwhile, KKR have won the toss and chosen to field first in this ongoing fixture.
