Mumbai Indians will take on Rajasthan Royals in match number 42 of the Indian Premier League 2023. In a recent development, it is now being learnt that the five-time IPL winners MI will give a special tribute to their captain Rohit Sharma who will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of being the team's skipper.

The match will be played on April 30 which also happens to the skipper's 36th birthday. The news was announced by the franchise on their official social media handle.

"#Hitman10 | 🔟 years of Ro’s Skipper era, 🔟 years of believing in miracles 💙🏆 Paltan, #MIvRR will be dedicated to this decade of @ImRo45’s captaincy. See you at Wankhede on April 30 🤩 #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians #MumbaiMeriJaan #IPL2023," the most successful side in the history of the tournament tweeted.

Talking about MI's journey in IPL 2023 so far after an underwhelming last season in which they finished at the bottom of the table, it hasn't been the best of starts for them this year. They have played 7 matches far but have registered 3 wins, losing their other four matches. They would have to put up a much better performance in the second half in order to secure a place in the final four and then look to play the final to be in contention for their sixth title.

However, it is not going to be an easy task with all teams playing some great brand of cricket and even the sides ranked lower more than capable of beating any opposition on a given day. Captain Rohit's personal form with the bat could also be a crucial factor going forward for them in the competition.
