Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining slow over-rate in match number 18th of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Thursday, April 13 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, PTI reported. As per IPL’s Code of Conduct, IPL matches have a time limit of 3 hours and 20 minutes, but slow over rate is proving to be an issue with several games stretching past the four-hour mark.

"As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Pandya was fined Rs. 12 lakh," an IPL media advisory said on Friday.

Before Hardik Pandya, two other captains have also been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis was penalised for maintaining slow over-rate against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson was too asked to pay the heavy fine for slow over-rate against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
