MS Dhoni has decided to step down as the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be leading the CSK side at the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). 


MS Dhoni was the captain of the franchise since 2008. He is IPL's one of the most succesful captains ever. 






"MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team. Jadeja, who has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will only be the third player to lead CSK. Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond," CSK said in a statement.

Dhoni has led CSK in 204 matches since 2008. He has won 121 matches, lost 82 as captain of Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni's winning percentage is 59.60. He won four IPL titles with Chennai. 


MS Dhoni stepping down as the captain of Chennai Super Kings means an end to the captaincy era that began with the ICC T20 World Cup 2007.
