He spent Rs 9.25 crores for South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, Rs 9 crores for uncapped Indian player Shah Rukh Khan, Rs 8.25 crores for Shikhar Dhawan, Rs 6.75 crores for Jonny Bairstow, and Rs 5.25 crores for Rahul Chahar. At the same time, the franchise retained its captain Punjab Kings for Rs 14 crores. 


Lucknow Super Giants were surprised-


Lucknow Super Giants had retained KL Rahul for Rs 17 crores even before the mega auction of IPL 2022. The franchise then spent Rs 10 crores for young fast bowler Avesh Khan, Rs 8.75 crores for Jason Holder, Rs 8.25 crores for Krunal Pandya, Rs 7.50 crores for Mark Wood, Rs 6.75 crores for Quinton de Kock in the auction.
